Cooksville is located in south central Wisconsin. The village is unincorporated and has no post office, hence our Evansville mailing address. Situated halfway between Madison and Janesville, there are several smaller towns just a short drive away.
The Cooksville Farmhouse Inn is located at the North-West corner of the intersection of Hwy 59 and Hwy 138.
From Janesville take Hwy 14 west to Tolles Road (by the cemetery.) Turn north (right) to Cooksville where Tolles Road ends at Hwy 59 and Hwy 138 begins. We are on the NW corner of this intersection.
From the east side of Madison take Hwy 51 south through Stoughton. You will pass Hwy 138 west to Oregon on your right. Don't take it. A few more blocks and you will hit Hwy 138 south, also to the right. Take it to Cooksville and the intersection of 138 and 59. We are on the NW corner.
From the west side of Madison take the Beltline (Hwy14/18) to Park Street South (Hwy 14). Exit 138 east to Stoughton where it joins with Hwy 51. Turn right on Hwy 138 south and continue to the intersection of Hwy 59 in Cooksville.
From the east or Edgerton take Hwy 59 west to Cooksville to the intersection of Hwy 59 and 138. We are on the NW corner.
There are three golf courses within 15 miles. Lake Kegonsa State Park (12 miles) and Lake Koshkonong (29 miles) in Stoughton, Lake Mendota and Monona in Madison are within a 30 minute drive. Hwy 138 and Hwy 59 are small two lane state highways with many miles of scenic views as well as all the smaller county roads to travel on. There are several farmer’s markets including the outdoor one in Madison early Saturday mornings from mid April through mid October.
